At Travel Guard, we recognize the severity of the oil spill to
the property management industry and want to do what we can to help.
The All Seasons Travel Plan does not provide coverage under the trip
cancellation and interruption portion of the plan – meaning your
guests cannot get reimbursement through Travel Guard because they
don’t want to travel to their destination for fear the oil spill will
ruin their vacation.
Many Travel Guard partners have made an operational decision
to try and aid their travelers by transferring their guest’s
reservation to a different date. We support that decision and have
agreed to allow the travel insurance plan to transfer to those new travel
dates.
In the event where the oil reaches the beaches, some of our
partners have decided they will provide a full refund and have asked if we
would agree to refund the travel insurance plan cost (traditionally
non-refundable). Because of this circumstance, we have agreed to make an
exception and allow the rental company to refund the plan cost as
well. Please work with your Travel Guard representative on these
logistics so we can make refunding a seamless process.
During this difficult time for you and your guests, Travel
Guard is able to assist with flight rebooking, vehicle rentals, and updates
on the current oil spill conditions by phone, twenty-four hours a
day. Please advise your guests who have purchased a Travel Guard
plan to utilize our services at any time by calling 877.249.5376.
